The tears of a woman are tears of a maiden
A pitiful, broken and crushed maiden
One who has created contempt for humanity
Hatred so profound and intense
it can smash indeed the most grounded of hearts
Why this contempt, you inquire? Well,
Man has not been exceptionally kind to her
Her closest friends have turned against her
Her one true and cherished love is unfaithful
All she is cleared out within life is zilch
Nothing but torment, pity, lament and hate
The tears of a woman are tears of a mother
A pitiful, withdrawn and inconsolable mother
One who has lost an infant
Although she had no control over the incident
Guilt has been a consistent companion
On and on questions run through her mind
Is there something I might have done differently?
Am I that awful a mother?
Why did he have to leave so suddenly?
Will I ever see him again?
The tears of a woman are tears of a wife
A youthful spouse who is made a widow
One whose world is torn apart
Torn apart with the passing of her husband
A dowager with children to think of
Children she thought she had help raising
Who can wipe the tears of a woman?
Who can settle a broken maiden?
Can someone restore her faith in humanity?
Who can support an inconsolable mother?
For her tears until the end of time flow like a stream
The tears of a woman…
