Tramadol ABUSE
It saddens though…, whenever the topic of Tramadol abuse ‘arises’.
But then…, I ask myself the questions Africa as a society will find very difficult to answer to ‘my satisfaction’.
- The communication of the topic itself. HOW is it understood…?
- The modes used in the communication of the ‘Tramadol abuse’ . HOW those methods are applied…!
- The EFFECTS of it’s communication. Is it making a positive or negative impact on the topic…?
- What roles should’ve been played instead, in the communication processes of the ‘Tramadol abuse’…?
- The society’s thought. WHAT are they on the topic…?
- The society’s attitude towards the addicts. HOW do they relate…?
- These are, but a few thoughts ‘running up and down’, ‘in and out’ of my mind in the mention of ‘Tramadol abuse’.
TRAMADOL a.k.a Ultram (it’s brand name) is an opioid pain medication used to treat moderate to moderately severe pain.
The drug Tramadol has been in existence since 1977. For about four decades now, it’s been serving it’s purpose of relieving humanity from severe pain, usually obtained through fatal accidents.
But then…, of late…, just the mere mention of it, strucks fear and panic not just into the hearts of the society- but into their minds as well.
A drug that was purposely to relieve lives, now turns a ‘life threatener’.
“Robbing off”, the life of the person it is associated to.
Turning the MEN into the boys. And the boys into the MEN.
Questioning the credibility of the thoughts of humanity.
The abuse of the once life saver, “TRAMADOL”
Tramadol Abuse:- Is the misuse,
/improper usage and overdose of the chronic opioid in administration. Which may in tend induce a state of immune tolerance, although in contrast to typical opioids, it may enhance immune function.
The overdose, misuse, administration without prescription usually causes severe side effects such as nausea, dizziness, vomiting, headache, constipation, stomach pains and a lot complications.
And in some instances, may lead to death!
NOT only on the individual(The addict) do the menace poses to risk, but the society, the Nation and humanity at large.
The society looses one of its own to mental instability and in an instances death.
The Nation, then looses the ‘man power’- the physical force in service of the individual, and revenue in tends declines.
But then… How can we, as a society deal with this Menace?
How do we, in our pursuit find solutions to the Menace as it approach?
The communication of the menace, the society’s thought and the attitude of the society towards these victims(The addicts) portrays them as “aliens” to humanity.
These ‘once gentle and innocent souls’ now seen as the scariest, ‘baddest’… “zombies” to society.
Rejected, detested and insulted as a bad influence to the society.
Hmmmmmmm…!!
Instead of US trying our very best in the right course to finding the causes of the abuse of the ‘once life calmer’… We rather sticks to blaming, tainting and painting the addicts black, forgetting they were once like us, NEVER wanting to hear the mention of it.
The drug OVER 42 years now has since been the same(serving it’s purpose)…,
Humans, still the same beings.
But then…, what has changed???
These are the very questions we should be asking ourselves as a society ready to fight this menace. Unemployment is at it’s highest peak…,
Broken homes are on the ‘highest high’…,
Responsible parenting is repugnant and detestable…, Whereas misunderstanding is glooming in the sight of society.
And then… Creativity as a Nation is at it’s doom- The youth ain’t motivated to creativity.
Nobody cares any longer
I “preach” to the society, that has been able to accept and adjust into the good of the 21st century- to also recognize the ‘bad’ it comes with. And try all diplomatic possible means to find lasting solutions to them as such…, Rather than ‘faulting’ the human being(The Almighty’s beloved creature)
Humans, though not perfect has and will always be same.
But time and trends keeps changing, presenting new ideologies to us. New problems, new issues to tackle.
It is now on us and on our human part to seek out the good, time and trends present to us, and accept the bad as well. And then try to change it in a revolutionary manner.
Only then can WE all ‘beat our chest’ as a people seeking to eradicate the Abuse of Tramadol and other social vices of the 21st century.
Peace
